Roads reopen in Seffner, Thonotosassa after fallen trees removed

SEFFNER — Two trees, which fell in unrelated incidents, blocked Hillsborough roads Monday. Both roads were open by 2:30 p.m.

At midday Monday, sheriff's deputies said that all lanes of Parsons Avenue between Hillsborough Avenue and Windfield Lane were closed because of a fallen tree.

Meanwhile, part of Harney Road was closed early Monday after a tree fell and knocked down several power lines, leaving dozens of homes and businesses without electricity, the Sheriff's Office said.

The incident was reported just before 5 a.m. And the portion of road between Skewlee and Real Short was reopened at about noon.

About 150 customers were affected by the outage caused by the fallen tree on Harney, according to Tampa Electric's website, but power was restored about 7 a.m.
