LARGO — Part of Largo High School was briefly evacuated Tuesday afternoon after authorities received reports of a possible gas leak.
The C and D wings of the school were evacuated after Largo firefighters arrived at the school around 1:20 p.m., said Largo Fire Rescue Division Chief David Mixson.
Firefighters were ventilating the area and by 2 p.m., natural gas level readings were down to zero, Mixson said. Clearwater Gas was on scene.
Students would be dismissed as usual, Mixson said.
