NEW PORT RICHEY — A 61-year-old man is accused of robbing a bank at gunpoint Thursday morning.
Authorities say Ronald L. Keesbury strode into Achieva Federal Credit Union at 5920 State Road 54 just before 10 a.m. and brandished a gun. Keesbury gave the teller a bag he brought and told the teller to "fill it up," according to the Pasco County Sheriff's Office.
He fled with an undisclosed amount of money and was seen getting into a black Pontiac Sunfire, which headed eastbound on SR 54, a report states. Deputies quickly located and stopped the vehicle.
He "admitted to robbing the bank," and the bag of stolen money was found inside the car, the report states. Keesbury, of New Port Richey, was charged with robbery with a deadly weapon. He is being held at the Pasco jail in lieu of $150,000 bail.
