Officials say the pedestrian was walking east across 66th Street N, south of 54th Avenue N, when the accident happened.

Knapp, who was driving a 1986 Toyota, was traveling north on 66th Street, in the center lane, when his vehicle collided with the pedestrian.

The injured woman’s name was not released, pending notification of next of kin. She was taken to Bayfront Health St. Petersburg.
