BELLEAIR BLUFFS — Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies are looking for a man who left behind a package while robbing a Northstar Bank Monday afternoon.

The suspect — described as a while male around the age of 60 — walked up to the teller of the bank at 715 Indiana Rocks Road around 2:19 p.m. and demanded cash, deputies said.

After he was given an undisclosed amount of money, deputies said he told the teller: "I left something for you."

Employees found a small bag the man placed by the front door of the bank before he ran away, going north.

The bank was evacuated, and the Tampa police Bomb Squad came to investigate the package. Deputies said there was no destructive device found in the bag, but did not identify what, if anything, was in it.

Deputies are still looking for the suspect. He's described as tall with a thin build, weighing between 150 and 175 pounds, and unshaven with a gray mustache. He was wearing a black, thick button-up shirt, blue jeans and a red and white colored ball cap.

Anyone with information on this case is asked to contact Detective George Moffett of the Robbery/Homicide Unit at (727) 582-6200 or to remain anonymous and be eligible for a reward contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-873-8477 (TIPS) or www.crimestoppersofpinellas.org.
