Pinellas jail inmate who hung himself dies at hospital

CLEARWATER -- An inmate at the Pinellas County Jail died in the hospital Saturday after he hung himself in his cell, deputies said.

As deputies readied inmates Friday for morning recreation around 8:15 a.m., they noticed England Wilson, 32, hanging from his cell gate on a sheet. The sheet was tied around his neck, and deputies cut him down.

Authorities preformed CPR, and England was rushed to the hospital. He died Saturday night around 7:30 p.m.

Wilson was being held at the jail for the U.S. Marshal's Service.
