TAMPA — A Blake High School student was arrested Wednesday, accused of bringing an unloaded gun on campus.
School officials were tipped off about the gun by a witness. The school's law enforcement resource officer searched the 16-year-old's belongings and found an unloaded gun in the boy's gym bag, Tampa police say.
Police arrested the student and took him to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
He faces a charge of possessing a firearm on school grounds, a third-degree felony.
