Police: Man found dead in pond homeless; death doesn't appear suspicious

CLEARWATER — A man found dead in a retention pond Saturday morning was homeless, police said.

The man has been identified, but his name is not being released until police can notify his family. His death does not appear to be suspicious, Clearwater police said.

The man was found about 8:45 a.m. floating in the retention pond at Glen Oaks Park, 1345 Court St., by a man who was walking his dog.
