PINELLAS PARK — Police arrested a man they say shot two people Friday evening.
Pinellas Park police charged Corey Rudenis, 20, with two counts of aggravated battery with a deadly weapon and one count of burglary. They don't know a motive.
At about 5:20 p.m. Friday, police say Cameran Bodell, 20, drove himself to police substation at 49th Street and 70th Avenue N with a gunshot wound to his shoulder. Meanwhile, dispatchers received reports of shots in the 6000 block of 66th Terrace. When officers arrived there, they found a second man, Mitchell Birchard, 21, who had been shot in his hand. Their injuries were not life-threatening.
Both shootings stemmed from the same incident at 6071 66th Terrace, which police listed as Rudenis's home. Rudenis ran away. Police brought a K-9 unit to search, but couldn't immediately find him. Police arrested him and took him to the Pinellas County Jail early Saturday morning, where he remained on $50,000 bail.
