Stretch of U.S. 19 reopened after gas line break

PALM HARBOR — U.S. 19 was reopened at Nebraska Avenue early Monday after a brief closing for a damaged gas line.

A Pinellas County Sheriff's Office spokeswoman said the break, near the Regions Bank at 33805 U.S. 19, was caused by construction crews who hit a gas line while working.

In addition to the intersection, the McDonald's at 33187 U.S. 19 was evacuated as a precaution.

The intersection was reopened shortly after 6 a.m.
