Public access offering recording time to speak to RNC delegates

TAMPA — Need an outlet for your ire? Have a thought you believe Republican National Convention delegates should hear?

Florida's public access television station is offering five free minutes of recording time to anyone with a message to share.

They're calling it the "Tampa Bay Soapbox" and say segments will be run during the convention on Verizon channels 30 and 36, Bright House Networks channels 949 and 950 and Comcast channel 20.

Anyone interested should call the Tampa Bay Community Network at (813) 977-5200 to book a time to record a spot either at University Mall or through Skype.

Station executives hope people will relay concerns on issues such as veteran affairs, the "stand your ground" law, health care and social issues, politics, the environment, education, unions, reproductive rights and voting.
