Safety Harbor woman critically hurt in Oldsmar motorcycle wreck

OLDSMAR — Pinellas sheriff's deputies were investigating a motorcycle wreck Sunday evening that critically injured a woman whose Harley-Davidson crashed on Forest Lakes Boulevard near State Road 580.

Authorities said that Cheryl Santucci, 54, of 266 Hamilton Ave., in Safety Harbor was riding a vintage 1984 Harley south on Forest Lakes Boulevard approaching S.R. 580 when for unknown reasons she ran off the road and hit the curb, flipping the bike and throwing her off.

Santucci later underwent head surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tampa, authorities said. The injuries were deemed life-threatening.

Santucci was not wearing a helmet, officials said.
