ST. PETERSBURG - The U.S. Coast Guard rescued six people whose sailboat capsized Saturday afternoon near the Pier during the St. Petersburg Yacht Club Regatta.
A Coast Guard crew, alerted by a distress call, arrived on scene just before 1:30 p.m. They found all six people, who had been aboard the 24-foot Shock Therapy, in the water.
No one was injured, and the group was taken to the nearby Coast Guard station.
The boaters were residents of Tampa, St. Petersburg, Tierra Verde and Apollo Beach.
Officials have sent out a warning to other boaters about the vessel, which they said remains partially submerged about 600 yards south of the Pier.
