Second Hillsborough man arrested in theft of lewd images from cell phone

BARTOW — Police arrested a second mobile phone store employee Wednesday in connection with an investigation into the theft of personal photos from a customer's phone.

Joshua Stuart, 24, of Riverview turned himself in to Bartow police Wednesday morning. A warrant for his arrest had been requested Oct. 31 when his co-worker, 26-year-old Gregory Lampert of Brandon, was arrested on charges of dealing in stolen property, theft of computer data, distributing lewd material and petty theft.

Bartow police say both men worked at a Verizon Wireless store. A customer came in and had Stuart transfer her data to a new phone. But during the process, he kept some racy pictures of her, authorities said.

He then shared the photos with Lampert, police said, and even showed them to a customer, who recognized the woman and told her the men had pictures of her. The woman reported the theft to police.

Stuart faces charges of felony dealing in stolen property, felony offenses against computer users, misdemeanor theft and misdemeanor prohibited acts regarding lewd materials.
