Silver alert issued for St. Pete man

ST. PETERSBURG — Authorities are looking for an 89-year-old man who was last seen leaving his home early Wednesday afternoon.

A silver alert was issued for Edward Taylor, who is diabetic and may have a mental disability, Pinellas County Sheriff's deputies said. He vanished about 12:30 p.m.

Taylor is white, 5 foot 10 and 180 pounds. He has green eyes and gray hair. He was last seen wearing light blue pants and a blue shirt.

Taylor drives a white 1996 Lincoln Town Car, with Florida license plate I316IB, deputies said. He may have driven to the Winn-Dixie store at Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. St. and 62nd Avenue Nbefore he disappeared.

Anyone with information about Taylor is asked to call a local law enforcement agency.
