Some north Pinellas residents told to boil water for next two days

County officials have issued a boil water notice for some north Pinellas residents.

People who live south of Sunset Point Road, east of U.S. 19, north of State Road 590 and west of McMullen Booth Road should boil their water for the next 48 hours, authorities said Thursday morning.

Those who get their water from the city of Clearwater are not affected.

Authorities said the notice is just a precaution, following a water main leak Wednesday evening at McMullen Booth Road just north of the railroad tracks near northeast Coachman Road.

The leak already has been repaired, officials said, but they advise that people boil their water while the county tests the water supply.
