SPRING HILL — An Internet sweepstakes cafe that had closed its doors in the spring when the establishments were banned by Florida law and then reopened earlier this month closed again Friday after being told by the Hernando County Sheriff's Office that the business was in violation of state regulations that prohibit gambling.

Sheriff's Office spokeswoman Denise Moloney said Anastasia Brooks, the owner of Treasure Cove Sweepstakes at 5117 Commercial Way, decided to shut down her operation after being informed by detectives conducting an investigation there for the past few days that they had observed gambling at the establishment.

Moloney said no arrests were made and that none of the business' equipment was confiscated.
