St. Petersburg police: Missing 10-year-old girl found

UPDATE: Police found the 10-year-old girl who ran away from her home Tuesday. She has been returned home unharmed.

ST. PETERSBURG -- Police are searching for a 10-year-old girl who ran away from home Tuesday and are seeking the public's help in finding her.

Alena Lynn Beattie ran away from her home at 2353 58th St. N. sometime between 8 am and noon. Police are especially concerned because of her young age.

She left a note for her mother saying she was running away because of a disagreement they had the night before, but she has never previously run away.

Alena is described as a light-skinned biracial female, 5-feet tall, 95 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a black t-shirt and blue jeans shorts, possibly carrying a suitcase.

Police believe she could be in or around Tyrone Square Mall. Anyone with information should call St. Petersburg Police at (727) 893-7780.
