Standoff in Seminole ends peacefully

SEMINOLE — A 33-year-old man who armed and barricaded himself inside a Seminole home was coaxed out by negotiators Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

No one was injured.

Pinellas deputies were called to the home at 9096 109th Terrace N by the man's mother, who said her son was arguing with her husband, according to the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office.

The man's parents, who were outside the home when authorities arrived, said their son was inside the home, would not come out, and was threatening to hurt himself or anyone who tried to intervene.

Deputies evacuated nearby homes. At 1:35 p.m., the Sheriff's Office said residents would be allowed back into their homes soon.
