State troopers to stage DUI checkpoint in Pasco

LAND O'LAKES — The Florida Highway Patrol will execute a DUI checkpoint Friday night at U.S. Highway 41 and Hale Road.

From 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m. Saturday, troopers will join members of the Florida Department of Transportation, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office and several local police departments to arrest drivers who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

They'll also check for cars with defective equipment and drivers who don't have proper registration and insurance information.
