TAMPA — Tampa police gave the all-clear after a suspicious package caused a limited evacuation Sunday evening of the David A. Straz Jr. Center for the Performing Arts.
The suspicious package was reported on the north side of the Straz Center around 6:30 p.m., police said. The package turned out to be a briefcase full of some ribbons, balls and other items and was most likely left by a patron, police said.
A bomb technician and bomb squad robot examined and dismantled the package, police said. The package was cleared by 8:30 p.m. No injuries were reported.
