Tampa man turns himself in on attempted murder charge in Robles Park shooting

TAMPA — A man wanted in the Dec. 1 shooting of Dontavious Clark has turned himself in on an attempted first-degree murder charge, police say.

Darnell Keyon Ammons, 21, had a warrant out for his arrest. Police say that at about 3 p.m. on Dec.1, Ammons was arguing with Clark near Robles Park in Tampa when a woman pushing her two children in a stroller handed Ammons a gun, which he used to shoot Clark, 22.

The woman, Shamiria Hardrick, 22, was arrested that day and faces charges of attempted first-degree murder, child neglect and carrying a concealed firearm.

Clark is still listed in critical condition. Police ask anyone with information to call the Tampa Police Department at (813) 231-6130 or Crime Stoppers toll-free at 1-800-873-8477.
