Teen recants story of attempted kidnapping at Seffner bus stop

SEFFNER — A teenage girl has recanted a story she told Wednesday of three men trying to kidnap her at a school bus stop.

The 16-year-old Armwood High School student had told Hillsborough County deputies one of the men tried to pull her by the arm into a silver minivan at Highway 92 and Anna Drive about 7 a.m. Wednesday.

The teen gave detailed descriptions of her assailants and their van. But during interviews with detectives, she admitted the story was false, the Sheriff's Office said Thursday.

No charges have been filed at this time, according to the Sheriff's Office.
