Toddler found in west Pasco pool, rushed to hospital

BAYONET POINT — A 1-year-old boy was rushed to the hospital this evening after his mother found him in a backyard pool, the Pasco County Sheriff's Office said.

It appears the boy crawled through a doggy door of a home and into the back yard, where the above-ground pool was located at 7013 Country Club Drive, the Sheriff's Office said.

The mother found the child about 5:30 p.m. and a Pasco deputy performed CPR on the child before Pasco Fire Rescue arrived. The child was taken to Regional Medical Center Bayonet Point and is scheduled to be flown to All Children's Hospital, authorities said.
