RUSKIN — State troopers seek information about a hit-and-run crash that killed a teenager Saturday.

Florida Highway Patrol spokesman Sgt. Larry Kraus said two witnesses with 17-year-old Jessie W. Driggers told troopers it was too dark to make out the car. They only saw tail lights as it drove away, Kraus said.

The northbound car hit Driggers as he crossed U.S. Highway 41 north of 19th Avenue about 11:31 p.m.

There was just one hubcap left behind, Kraus said. "That's it."

"We're at a loss, to tell you the truth," he said.

FHP asks that anyone with information call (813) 631-4020, (813) 632-6859, ext. 356, or (813) 215-1867.
