U.S. 19 in Palm Harbor has reopened

PALM HARBOR — All lanes of U.S. 19 in Palm Harbor have been reopened after the highway was shut down during Wednesday's evening rush hour because of a gas leak.

Traffic began flowing again around 7:15 p.m., more than two hours after workers hit a gas line near Highlands Boulevard and forced the closure of the highway from Nebraska Avenue to Alderman Road.

Clearwater Gas System was able to find and repair the leaks.
