Wimauma brush fire scorches mobile home

WIMUAMA — It took about 25 firefighters and two hours Thursday afternoon to contain a large brush fire that scorched a mobile home and threatened others.

The fire, near the 3300 block of Maple Mex Street, burned about 30 acres and caused minor damage to the exterior of a mobile home where three people live, according to Hillsborough County Fire Rescue.

The fire also threatened other homes, but was brought under control.

Fire Rescue said no one was injured or displaced by the fire.
