TAMPA -- A 24-year-old Tampa woman died Saturday morning after a blown tire caused her to lose control of her sport-utility vehicle on Interstate 75.
She was driving the Chevrolet Blazer south on I-75 just south of the Pasco County line when the tire ripped, according to the Florida Highway Patrol. The SUV veered off the shoulder of the highway and slammed into two trees.
Troopers said the woman, whose identity was withheld pending notification of her family, died at the scene after the 12:30 a.m. crash.
Investigators are still looking into the wreck.
