Woman's body found behind New Port Richey apartments

NEW PORT RICHEY – Deputies are investigating the death of a woman whose body was found Tuesday afternoon in the woods behind an apartment complex.

There are no signs of foul play, said Pasco Sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin.

Investigators have not yet identified the woman, who appeared to be in her late 50s to early 60s, Tobin said. It was not immediately clear if she was a resident of the nearby Cypress Trail Apartments.

Tobin said the woman was found about 10 feet in the woods behind the apartments at 7250 and 7260 Broadmoor Drive. A medical examiner will determine the cause of the woman's death.
