Hernando County religion calendar for March 2

Brooksville

New Hope Missionary Baptist Church has tickets on sale for "2013 Phony Men Silly Women," to be presented at 4 p.m. May 4 at First Baptist Church, 420 Howell Ave. The speaker will be Pastor Freddie Hinson, Jr.; the host will be comedian Rod Z. Hudson

The Antioch Fellowship Baptist adult choir will present its third annual Jubilee concert, "I Will Sing Unto the Lord," at 4 p.m. today at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, 14236 County Line Road. Ridge Manor

Ridge Manor Community Methodist Church, 34350 Cortez Blvd., will have a community yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. today. People are welcome to bring items to sell. Spring Hill

Hope Community Bible Church, 13241 Spring Hill Drive, will have a rummage and bake sale by its Alliance Women from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday and March 9. Call (352) 686-6020.

Spring Hill United Church of Christ, 4244 Mariner Blvd., will have a spring rummage sale and outdoor flea market from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. today. Breakfast and lunch will be available for purchase. For information, call (352) 683-4870.

First United Methodist Church, 9344 Spring Hill Drive, will host a flea market by the United Methodist Women and Men from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 16. There will be clothing, jewelry, furniture and household items. Interested vendors should call (352) 683-2467. There will also be a bake sale, and refreshments will be available for purchase. All proceeds will go to charities.

Temple Beth David, 13158 Antelope St., will have its annual Jewish Food Fest from noon to 4 p.m. March 10. Food items available for purchase, to eat in or take out, will include stuffed cabbage, potato latkes, blintzes, hamentaschen, mandel bread, kugels and assorted baked goods. There will be Israeli dancing and a variety of vendors. Admission is free. Also, there will be a Jewish Film Festival, featuring the movie School Ties, at 7 p.m. March 12. The Baha'is of Hernando County will host a talk and discussion, "Moving Spiritual Mountains" with Jaime Manfra at 7 p.m. Friday at Spring Hill United Church of Christ, 4244 Mariner Blvd. Transportation is available. Call (352) 666-7280.
