Lakewood Retreat, 25458 Dan Brown Hill Road, has become a member of the Christian Chamber of Commerce Tampa Bay.
"As a Christian establishment, we desire to be an extension of the hand of God to the community, families, ministries, churches and businesses alike," said retreat director Bud Goodwin.
The retreat is offering an all-day Back to School Bash any weekday through Sept. 20. It includes a Low Ropes Initiatives course to groups with a minimum of 24 people for $7.50 per person, or an overnight event at a cost of $29.95 per person, which includes two meals, the rope course, a hayride and popcorn. Faith Fellowship Church, 19255 Campground Road, will host a free gospel sing from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 14. People attending may sing or play an instrument, or just listen. Christian Life Assembly of God, 13065 Jacqueline Road, will host an 11-day Lands of Jesus and Moses Tour to Israel from Nov. 4 to 14. Temple Beth David, 13158 Antelope St., will celebrate High Holy Days, beginning with Rosh Hashana services at 8 p.m. today and 10 a.m. Thursday with a Tashlich service at 4 p.m. Kol Nidre services will be at 8 p.m. Sept. 13, and Yom Kippur services will be at 10 a.m., noon and 4 p.m. Sept. 14. Celebrate Recovery offers a 12-step Christ-focused recovery program for those dealing with a hurt, habit or hang-up. The cost is $5 for a workbook. Separate groups are available for men and women for the recovery group. Childcare for each class of the three classes is provided at no cost for infants to kindergarten age.
