Religion calendar

Brooksville

Faith Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 200 Mount Fair Ave., will celebrate Reformation Sunday beginning with the 10:30 a.m. service Sunday. There will be special music and a sermon reflecting Reformation-related themes.

After the service, there will be a pig roast and potluck dinner featuring meals from around the world, especially the nations involved in the Reformation. There will also be Highland Games outdoors, such as a caber toss, that pay homage to the cultural traditions of Scotland, where Presbyterianism has its roots.

Ridge Manor

Ridge Manor Community United Methodist Church, 34350 Cortez Blvd., will host a fall festival from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday. There will be hayrides, a bounce house, face and pumpkin painting, and cakewalks, along with other games and live music. Visitors can build a scarecrow for a fee. Food and drinks will be available.

Spring Hill

A New Generation will host its 11th annual Life Gala at 7 p.m. Nov. 7 at Northcliffe Baptist Family Life Conference Center, 10515 Northcliffe Blvd. Tickets cost $30 per person. Temple Beth David, 13158 Antelope St., will host Night at the Races horse races beginning at 6:30 p.m. Saturday. Admission is $5. Food and drinks will be available for purchase. Spring Hill United Church of Christ, 4244 Mariner Blvd., will host its annual Oktoberfest dinner from 4 to 6 p.m. today. Takeout of the homemade German dinner will be available and live music will be presented between 5 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children 5 to 12; children under the age of 5 eat free.
