Spring Hill

Temple Beth David Sisterhood and Brotherhood, 13158 Antelope St., will present "A Night in China," featuring a catered Chinese buffet dinner followed by the film Minyan in Kaifeng, at 7 p.m. Feb. 7. The film chronicles the history of the Jews of Kaifeng, beginning in Persia 1,000 years ago. Dessert and discussion will follow the movie. Tickets are $18 for members and $23 for nonmembers; $10 for member children under 13 and $15 for nonmember children. Reservations are required by Monday. St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 5030 Mariner Blvd., will offer the DivorceCare support program at 7 p.m. each Thursday for 13 weeks beginning this week in Room 7 of the Cabrini Center. Topics covered will include: "What's Happening to Me?" "Road to Healing," "Facing Anger," "Depression and Loneliness," "Financial Survival," "New Relationships" and "Forgiveness." Dayspring Presbyterian Church, 6000 Mariner Blvd., will offer "The Art of Marriage," a six-session video event, from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Feb. 7. First United Methodist Church of Spring Hill, 9344 Spring Hill Drive, will present the Hoppers in concert at 7 p.m. today.

The Hoppers began in 1957 as five brothers in rural North Carolina. Today the group includes original member Claude and his wife, Connie; their sons, Mike and Dean; and Dean's wife, Kim, who hails from her own musical family, the Greenes. The group has performed throughout the United States and in Europe, Israel and Africa. They appear regularly on Gaither Homecoming videos and have 65 albums to their credit. Along with their numerous awards, in 2012 they were inducted into the Gospel Music Association Gospel Music Hall of Fame.
