Hernando religion calendar, Sept. 1 and upcoming

Brooksville

Faith Fellowship Church, 19266 Campground Road, will host a free Gospel Jam from 2 to 5 p.m. Sept. 8. People attending may sing or play an instrument, or just listen. A karaoke machine will be available for CDs. All ages are welcome, and light refreshments will be served. Love Your Neighbor's free community dinners are from 4 to 6 p.m. Mondays at the Rising Sun Cafe, 10 S Main St. Volunteers should arrive at 3 p.m. Call (352) 428-9275. The ministry's Donation Station, a food pantry and "pay what you can" donation-only thrift store, is open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday at 408 W Jefferson St. Volunteers and donations are needed. Spring Hill

The Baha'is of Hernando County hosts a talk by Tony Quinones of New Port Richey, "A Message from God You've Never Heard," at 7 p.m. Sept. 14 at Spring Hill United Church of Christ, 4244 Mariner Blvd. Transportation available. Call 666-7280.

Temple Beth David, 13158 Antelope St., will observe Selichot, in preparation of the upcoming High Holy Days, beginning with a President's Reception at 8 p.m. and a service at 9 p.m. Sept. 8. Call (352) 686-7034.

Behind the Stone Ministries has a weekly food assistance distribution in the parking lot of New Song Worship Center, 6001 Deltona Blvd. Food, clothing and other necessities are distributed at 5 p.m. each Thursday. Call John Stramiello at (727) 808-4096.

St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church, 5030 Mariner Blvd., will begin a DivorceCare program at 7 p.m. Thursday and continuing on Thursdays for 13 weeks. Meetings will be in Room 1; there is no cost. Call (352) 686-9954, ext. 409.
