Possible successors to Pope Benedict

Some of the names of cardinals mentioned as potential successors to Pope Benedict XVI:

• Angelo Scola, 71, Italy, archbishop of Milan;

• Marc Ouellet, 68, Canada, head of the Congregation for Bishops at the Vatican;

• João Braz de Aviz, 65, Brazil, heads the Vatican's department for religious congregations;

• Timothy Dolan, 63, United States, archbishop of New York;

• Peter Turkson, 64, Ghana, head of Vatican's Council for Justice and Peace; and

• Gianfranco Ravasi, 70, Italy, serves as president of the Vatican's Council for Culture.
