Religion calendar

Unitarian Universalist Church of Tampa, 11400 Morris Bridge Road, Tampa, holds Sunday services at 11 a.m. During this Sunday's service, church member Lee Bonta will discuss "Myth as Metaphor for Enlightenment, Personal Development or Spiritual Advancement." The Franciscan Center, 3010 N Perry Ave., Tampa, will hold "Women in the Bible: The Woman With the Alabaster Jar" from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday. The program will reflect on the woman in the Bible who anoints Jesus for his burial, and being called to service. The cost is $10.

The center also will feature "Muslim Rescuers of Jews During the Holocaust," presented by Mehnaz Afridi, assistant professor of religious studies and director of the Holocaust, Genocide and Interfaith Education Center at Manhattan College, from 1:30 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Saint Leo University, 33701 State Road 52, St. Leo, and from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the Franciscan Center in Tampa.
