Temple Beth David, 13158 Antelope St., will dedicate its Social Hall in memory of Judith Greene and its Judaic Gift Shop in memory of Deborah Parent at 10 a.m. May 13. Both women were longtime volunteers in numerous capacities at Temple Beth David. After the dedication service, there will be a Kiddush luncheon sponsored by Mel Greene.
Unitarian Universalist Church in the Pines, which meets at the Heather Community Center, 9100 Nakoma Way, is collecting toiletries to be given to People Helping People to distribute to the homeless. Suggested items include toothbrushes, razors, combs, soap, lotions and shaving cream. The church's book drive has ended. Call (352) 600-9555.
