'Be More' worship series: "Be More" is an 11-week worship series presented during the regular 8:30, 9:30 and 11 a.m. Sunday church services through the month of October at Hyde Park United Methodist Church, 500 W Platt St. The series focuses on the book of Ephesians and challenges attendees to be more like Christ in their daily lives. Raising children with special needs: Lydia Abrams, the Tikvah special needs coordinator for Tampa Jewish Family Services, will give a presentation titled "The Emotional Dynamics of Raising Children with Special Needs" at 9:30 a.m. Sunday at Congregation Kol Ami, 3919 Moran Road. Jewish Genealogical Society meeting: The Jewish Genealogical Society of Tampa Bay will host a social with refreshments followed by the program "American Passage: The History Of Ellis Island" at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Gulf Coast Jewish Family Services, 14041 Icot Blvd., Clearwater. Meditation: A class featuring an introduction to meditation in the Kadampa Buddhist tradition is from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Angel Heart New Age Gifts, 3401 Henderson Blvd., No. H. Course to find the "work you love": Discover God-given talents, turn ideas into income, and learn how to find new job possibilities during "48 Days to the Work You Love," a weekly course offered by Grace Family Church, 5101 Van Dyke Road, Lutz. The course will be held on Tuesdays, beginning at 6:45 p.m. Sept. 14.
