I purchased several CDs and DVDs and I would like to transfer some of the songs to my computer. I have no problem with CDs, but cannot find a way to transfer songs from the DVDs (which is where most of my favorites are). I checked for help but cannot seem to find any for this task. Can you help?

DVDs require special software to be ripped to a hard drive. While Windows Media Player will allow you to rip CDs, it does not provide the same function for DVDs. There may be some free DVD-ripping software available for downloading, and there is certainly some for-purchase software that offers free trials. I use a product called DVDFab (www.dvdfab.com) that I have been very satisfied with. If you search at www.google.com for "DVD Copy Software" you will be presented with more than enough options, some better than others. My advice is to go with recommendations from someone you trust.

When I click Start and then Programs, I get a list in random order. Is there a way to make the list of program appear in alphabetical order?

After you click Programs, hold your mouse over any item in the menu and the right-click and select Sort by Name.
