Meteor provides quite the light show in the Florida Keys, and as far north as Tampa

Some residents in South Florida were treated to quite the light show on Tuesday night.

A Monroe County Sheriff's Office deputy captured video of a meteor streaking through the sky on his dashcam during his shift on Big Pine Key, near Key West, around 11 p.m.

According to the Sun Sentinel, the American Meteor Society had received 50 similar reports by Wednesday at 4 a.m.

What appears to be a meteor breaking up in the atmosphere could be seen from Port St. Lucie to the east and as far north as Tampa, according to the Sun Sentinel.
