Spring Hill man faces multiple counts of sexual battery

SPRING HILL — A 27-year-old Spring Hill man was arrested Friday and charged with multiple counts of sexual battery on a young girl.

Daniel William Hoover faces six counts of sexual battery and three counts of lewd and lascivious molestation, the Hernando County Sheriff's Office said. Hoover knows the girl, who is younger than 12, authorities said.

Hoover remained in custody Friday afternoon at the Hernando County Detention Center. No bail had been set.
