SunWest wakeboarding attraction opens

ARIPEKA — SunWest Park opens its new wakeboard attraction Friday morning with free parking and free rides available to the public. The park opens at 10 a.m. The publicly owned but privately operated park, located at 17362 Old Dixie Highway, initially opened its beach and water trampoline attraction July 4.

The wakeboarding cable system, known as System 2.0, is the next installment of the park's amenities. "SunWest staff is excited to teach a new sport to beginners and be a part of growth for experienced riders," said a prepared statement from Pasco County. The free parking is compliments of Students Survival Inc. and Pasco Commissioner Jack Mariano. Donations will be accepted to benefit Pasco's Elderly Nutrition Program.
