Sushi Inc. rolling into Ratchada in downtown St. Petersburg

ST. PETERSBURG — Sushi Inc. will soon replace Ratchada Thai Restaurant and Sushi Bar at 270 First Ave. N. The same group that owns SoHo Sushi on Kennedy Boulevard in Tampa recently approached the owners of Ratchada about taking over their space after looking in downtown St. Petersburg for more than two years.

"When you think of an exciting downtown environment, I don't think of downtown Tampa. We knew we wanted to be in downtown St. Petersburg," said Kevin West, operations manager for the ownership group. It also owns Yoko's Japanese Restaurant on S MacDill Avenue in Tampa.

Look for Sushi Inc., with "clean lines and a hip look" to open the second week of October. It will have a "pick two" lunch special of two rolls with soup or salad for $10. Dinner will range from $10 to $30 a person. The menu will feature a few special rolls honoring the Rays and St. Petersburg.
