TAMPA — Gas prices climbed just a couple of cents the past week, and the price of crude oil is down. But don't get your hopes up. Prices at the pump are expected to rise another 10 to 20 cents in the coming weeks.
So, while the average price nationally rose only a couple of cents — from about $2.67 to $2.69 — AAA spokesman Gregg Laskoski forecasts higher prices.
"While the fourth quarter is typically the time of year when retail gasoline prices are at their lowest, in coming weeks there's a chance we could see Florida prices between $2.80 and $2.90, and Georgia and Tennessee prices above $2.70," Laskoski said. "And this is with excess supply and little demand."
