I-275 cleared after accident on Howard Frankland Bridge

All lanes of Interstate 275 on the southbound span of the Howard Frankland Bridge have reopened after a single-vehicle crash backed up traffic for several miles Monday.

Armando Valdespino Morales, 42, of Tampa lost control of his Ford truck about 8 a.m. after a tire blew on a homemade trailer he was hauling, Florida Highway Patrol officials said.

Morales' trailer rammed into a barrier wall, snarling traffic for about an hour. The trailer landed on top of the inside barrier wall just before the hump.

Troopers were dispatched and cleared the accident around 9 a.m. Morales wasn't injured, troopers said.
