ST. PETERSBURG -- Traffic on the I-275 has nearly returned to normal after two crashes caused congestion on both ends of the bay this afternoon.
The first accident happened at 3:11 p.m. near Kennedy Blvd. in Tampa, where two vehicles collided in the northbound lanes. As of 5 p.m., the roadway there remained congested, said Sgt. Larry Kraus of the Florida Highway Patrol.
As that crash was being investigated, another vehicle crashed into a pole near 4th St. N in St. Petersburg at 4:14 p.m., Kraus said. That roadblock was cleared by 5 p.m., Kraus said.
There were no serious injuries involved in either crash. .
