TAMPA — Two of the Tampa Bay area's key bridges, temporarily closed in Thursday's stormy weather, are back open.
The Sunshine Skyway reopened about 6:25 p.m. after being closed much of the afternoon because of high winds from Tropical Storm Andrea.
The Gandy Bridge, closed Thursday evening by a downed power pole, reopened about an hour later.
The downed line may have been caused by a lightning strike, according to Sgt. Steve Gaskins, a spokesman for the Florida Highway Patrol.
