TAMPA — The new elevated toll road connecting Interstate 4 to the Lee Roy Selmon Expressway will open Monday morning after inclement weather postponed Friday's planned launch.

The Florida Department of Transportation will open ramps during the early morning as crews complete striping tie-ins at I-4 and the Selmon Expressway. The road was expected to be accessible from all entry points by 5:00 a.m.

Though the connector will welcome vehicles traffic, the project is not complete. Substantial work, including side streets, cross streets and landscaping, still needs to be completed over the next few months.
