Reminder: Portion of Dale Mabry closes Monday

TAMPA — A portion of Dale Mabry Highway in South Tampa will close to traffic for up to a week starting Monday as crews replace aging railroad tracks.

The highway will be closed just north of Gandy Boulevard, where the tracks intersect the road, through Fair Oaks Avenue.

The closing will detour motorists to lesser roads along Bay to Bay Boulevard and Manhattan Avenue. The entrance to the Selmon Crosstown Expressway off Dale Mabry will remain open, officials said.

CSX will replace ties and rails along the track to make the railroad crossing more level.

The road is expected to reopen by Sunday.
