TAMPA — Closed for almost a week because of a railroad crossing upgrade, Dale Mabry Highway in South Tampa has reopened.
A segment of the highway was closed while the CSX tracks that cross it north of Gandy Boulevard were being improved.
But starting Monday, another busy South Tampa road will close to through traffic for another railroad crossing upgrade.
MacDill Avenue will close in both directions between Gandy and Bay to Bay boulevards.
Drivers who use MacDill Avenue for their commute are advised to take Dale Mabry Highway instead.
The closure will allow CSX to upgrade the crossing between Santiago and Mason streets, according to the Tampa public works department. Work is scheduled to be complete in a week, weather permitting.
